Sklax Trap
Don't play this. It's not for you. You don't want the sklax. Or...I don't know, do you?
You awaken locked in a red room. An otherworldly humanoid watches you with a wide grin. To “play,” find something to click or tap in each scene (this can be difficult on mobile, but it is possible). You’ll reach the end when you arrive where you began and truly know it for the first time.
This project was about an hour of my life while I waited for keychains of this demented figure to 3D print. It was made using Flickgame (https://www.flickgame.org/play.html?p=593bae60e1b7e4bebd5a1ac4463e483e). The monster character was the result of playing a monster drawing game with my family in which you fold a paper into thirds. The first person draws the head of the monster, then leaves lines for the neck. The next person draws the torso, not knowing what the head looks like, and leaves legs indicating where the torso attaches to the hips. The last person draws the waist down, once again, not knowing what the rest of the creature looks like. The result is...well, sometimes it's this. After playing, we joked about the Sklaxman. Something about it felt…wrong. True. Like eyes watching from the darkness of the corner. We began noticing that glasses were occasionally left out that no one remembered drinking from, each with a small amount of green residue at the bottom. Friends who would come over would disappear, never to return, always leaving another glass. The Sklaxman doesn’t exist, but if it did, I’m sure that taking one sip of its drink couldn’t hurt…
Sklax! Embrace the change.
